Ramona, Calif. – March 29, 2019 — The Ramona Valley Vineyard Association (RVVA) announced that 10 of its winery members received medals for a total of 22 wines at the annual The Toast of the Coast Wine Competition, including, Woof’n Rose Winery’s Estate Cabernet Franc receiving the rating of “Best Cabernet Franc” of the competition and “Best of Ramona Valley AVA.”
Professional judges tasted 820 wines from 135 wineries, including established wineries located in Napa, Sonoma, Amador Valley, Alexander Valley, and Paso Robles, on February 16-17, 2019 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The competition awarded gold and silver medals along with the Double Gold Award, which is reserved for the finest wines deemed worthy by a four-judge panel consisting of one wine writer, one wine maker, one professional sommelier and one wine marketer. In addition, Best Varietal and Best of Appellation Awards were given to the top performing wines in each varietal or blended category as merited.
Bill Schweitzer, president of the RVVA, said, “We congratulate our member wineries who continue to receive recognition of their outstanding wines.
